Meadow Brown Butterfly | Unique Brooch

This brooch is truly one of a kind.

The Butterfly was found by my friend who works at Brownsea Island, the national trust nature reserve. The butterfly had already passed, she carefully stored it in a small glass jar, for me to take home and dry out further in silica mid 2025.

I spent a long time debating what would be the best setting for this butterfly. Earlier this year I got to go through my late grandmothers jewellery. I found this blank gold coloured metal brooch setting which was perfect.

Although difficult, and definitely a test of patience, I tried my best to make the butterfly look as it was perched on a "field" of flowers made with a combination of british and some swedish wildflowers on an orange backing.
